The Oldsmobile Silhouette Was a Really Weird Luxury Minivan

1 644 294 Megtekintés

The original Oldsmobile Silhouette was weird, quirky, and bizarre. It was also the original luxury minivan, and today I'm reviewing the Silhouette to show you what it was like. I am also going to show you the quirks and features of the Silhouette, and I will show you how the Oldsmobile Silhouette drives.

  • If I were to list my favorite reviews, it would include the Vector W8 and this - the 1996 Oldsmobile Silhouette. It would be the only list, ever, that includes both the Vector W8 and the 1996 Oldsmobile Silhouette.

    • @Charlotte Bingham Are u a Billionaire? Wtf are u talking about, are you insane? You want people lose their money, is that what you want? I tried every of those trading Systems and none of them worked I lost my MF money there and that's it, no money making like crazy only money losing like nothing..

    • Life is too short to be working for someone else's dream. Be a billionaire of your own. If you want to go big, stop thinking small. successful people are not people who never fail, but people who never quit. If you want to be a billionaire, then think like one, act like one, and live like one because there’s no other greater joy than having financial freedom and a life free of debts, All thanks to Mr carlos cause he made me who I am today through forex trade. He has helped me a lot with his trading strategies which helps me to earn $12,550 weekly with an initial investment of $1,000. I really appreciate it and can't help but let others know about it. it is so suitable anyone can trade from anywhere and anythime, reach out to Mr carlos on IG @carlos_1uptrades. his indeed a God Sent.

  • Oooooo a nissan thats called an oldsmobile

  • I havn't seen one of these things since I was a kid wow!!! 🤣🤣 And they still trigger me for some reason just seeing a picture of one.. I find this to be one of the ugliest vans I have ever laid my eyes on if not the most and when I use to see one driving by I physically would get agitated because I wanted to slap the 💩 out of who ever approved such an unappealing design to actually be mass produced as this was at the time.😂😂 There is another car called the Nissan Bevel that is neck and neck with the ugly design... And its not even this specific one its like that Era of mini vans was horrendous I use to ask my parents why are the cars are so boxy and ugly but back in the 50s,60s,70s the cars were beautiful. 80s, Early 90s had some of the worst looking vehicles of ALL time they were just too boxy. Dust buster vans 😫

I think the black one from the movie was a lot more stylish although still with the DustBuster profile. Maybe the white just wasn't a good choice for it.

  • The dustbusters were built in Tarrytown NY. The quality was so bad initially but got markedly worse when the workers were told the plant was closing. They kicked in doors and left beer cans in the hollow doors before they put the panels on. Ironically NY state paid to have all the conrail bridged heightened to allow the two level car carriers. And then they told NY state that they were closing the plant after only one year. This plant had THE WORST safety and quality record at the time. The production was moved to Doraville GA for the new model. I had a friend who was in charge of security and told me it was a SCARY place to work. There are now condo complexes overlooking the Hudson river. They did preserve the lighthouse which was off the coast of the plant and they were going to tear it down but the town saved it. These vans were pure crap. As were most of the GM offerings for the time.

  • My buddies and i used to take a road trip from Tucson to California's Bay Area each year in a rental minivan. One year we ended up renting a Silhouette. I loved it. Six big guys all fit, with some tetris skills being utilized for all of our gear. It had plenty of power for screaming across the desert at night for a good portion of the trip. We discovered that the odd ventlike rear windows had the unfortunate effect of stirring up and redistributing a horriffic fart when the most bovine of our group suffered gastric discomfort. We hoped to rent one the next year (fart event hopefully avoided) but by then Budget rentacar no long had Silhouettes to rent.
