The 2020 Volkswagen Jetta Is a Good Car Nobody Cares About

1 144 002 Megtekintés

The 2020 Volkswagen Jetta is a good car -- but people want SUVs now. Today I'm reviewing the new Jetta, and I'm going to show you all the quirks and features of the latest Jetta. I'm also driving the 2020 Jetta SEL Premium to show you what it's like on the road.

  • I think the extra switches can be for aftermarket accessories like kill switches etc.

  • We just got a dark silver 2020 R Line. pretty awesome...1.4 liter engine is not a dog what so ever.... we did a complete detail and light paint correction in order to apply Ceramic Coating. the car now has 500 miles on it This is the way all new cars should come from the dealer!

  • Everyone wants SUV's for their families they can't afford to take care of while paying off a loan they cannot afford.

  • Great review, albeit a bit harsh on this car in my opinion. I think 0-60 in 7.6 secs is enough for this car. It's not a sports car. Those who want a faster car should opt for something different: BMW 330i, Audi 4, Mercedes C or Jaguar XE. Mazda is not a car built for speed. It's a good car but it lacks dynamics completely. This Jetta is at least built on the same technology like Audi. It is DSG + turbo. The only problem it is not a 300 horsepower car. It's built for economy. Yet, it does give a lot of speed for its small displacement and fuel efficiency. The dashboard is pretty impressive. It's indeed looks nicer to me than on many higher end models where touch screens seem to be kinda jury-rigged haphazardly, and physical buttons are sorely missing. They are present though in cars like Bentley, Rolls, and others.

  • Not true, I care about it because it's better than a Honda or Toyota and the look is more stylish. I prefer the German feel of a car for sure. The sales decline is caused by lack of advertising as well as SUV popularity. Be sure to check out the sporty R-Line versions.

  • I would think R line would be more performance oriented, but with the base price and mileage, looks like a good deal.

    • R line is a regular performance up trim model

  • VW has always had the best interior for the price, but a Toyota will go trouble free literally twice as long and the maintenance is quite easy to do yourself. VW is nothing but a pain in the ass and wallet. There's people who want a volkswagen, and then there's people who've owned a volkswagen.

  • I just bought a 2020 VW Jetta with the SE trim. This car feels so solid and so substantial. It is an absolute joy to drive. What a huge improvement over the 2011 Jetta that I used to have. VW has done a really good job of improving the Jetta! This car is so roomy, comfortable, and practical. It has wonderful handling. I would highly recommend it! I understand that people are moving towards sport utility vehicles, but if you like sedans, check out the Jetta!

    J.A.MJ.A.M27 napja
  • He’s missing a HUGE point (as always), and that is the fact that the Jetta became a lot sharper and more sophisticated in design. For sport compact ENTHUSIASTS, wanting something like the GLI, it’s been a huge bonus, but they ARE NOT the majority of buyers. Jettas TOOK OFF in sales back in the early 00’s because they were “cute“, nicer, but still “cute” .... Soooooo , teenage girls were buying/having their parents buy Jettas for their first cars like crazy ! ! ...AS WELL AS College girls and girls in their early 20’s. It was a huge hit ! I remember basically expecting to see a cute chick every time I pulled up next to a Jetta! Does anyone concur ? Or was that just an early-mid 00’s So Cal thing??

    J.A.MJ.A.M27 napja
  • I agree with Doug. Nobody likes the Jetta, but it is a good car. It has good ambient lighting, drive modes, and a TSI Engine which has Turbo.

  • I bought a new jetta in july of 2019 for $16500. It regularly gets 45 mpg, air on, high speed. The engine is a jewel and 8 speed automatic and i like to drive it like a diesel, never going over 2000 rpm, and it is actually quicker than my last car, 2015 kia forte 5, which supposedly had 173 hp, more than any other 2 liter non-turbo except civic si?. it is a base model but beeps when i am about to back over somebody etc. I agree that it is not that much fun to drive but is a perfect car for me.

    John OehrleJohn OehrleHónapja
  • I've seen people move from small to big and back to small again. Doug seems caught up on SUVs but their popularity may wane in the future or near future. The Civic and Corolla and the Camry and Accord seem to still be selling well. And not all SUVs sell well.

  • C'mon Doug.. Don't do that to people. You KNOW 185 ft-lbs. torque is sad in today's times especially for its size.. That number is dropped even more because of powertrain transfer and it being measured on a Mustang Dino and not a BWHP dino.. You know better than this Doug don't start sugar coating the facts lbs.

  • Why no love for the MK6? I own an '11 Sportwagen TDI 6MT. Absolutely love it. Good power, great handling. Awesome highway car. Diesel torque is addictive.

  • All this tech; heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seat, navigation, blah, blah, blah and yet they STILL refuse to offer an 8-way power seat. I HATE that! I love the Jetta, but I can't get really comfortable because there's no way to get more thigh support. I'm tall and this is imperative for me, so the Jetta gets crossed off my list.

  • Yeah maybe cause the 11-18 jettas sucked absolute asshole compared to a toyota. Anyone who bought one will never again, thats what being a pos manufacturer does. Ruin your name, no amount of YT videos repays the 20k they sunk into their car.
