The 2020 Hyundai Sonata is surprisingly quirky. Today I'm reviewing the new 2020 Sonata and I'm going to show you all the quirks and features of the new Sonata. I'm also going to show you around the Hyundai Sonata and review the driving experience of the 2020 Hyundai Sonata.

    • I have a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. I went with the Tucson because I wanted AWD. It has been one of the biggest mistakes. The first was getting a Hyundai. They don’t care about their consumers. My car has been blowing headlights- having electrical issues (my auto windows go back down when you roll them up, my rear windshield wipers go off whenever they want, my break light seems to go on and off at random. I have reached out because as a company they should only want the best products out there. I was told that “because my car is over 3 years old. There is nothing they can do for me. To bring it to a dealer and “see what I can get” for it. I owe more than it’s worth because one thing they don’t tell you when you buy a Hyundai is they depreciate way faster than you can make payments to survive. DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI.

  • Just traded my 2019 Kona Ironman (yes I actually bought a Kona Ironman) for a new 2020 Sonata Limited. My other car is a 2020 Genesis G90 5.0 HTRAC and this Sonata is closer to the $80,000 G90 than you might think. Love them both. Of course I loved the Kona Ironman UNTIL the novelty wore off and keeping the matte gray paint clean became a real pain. Anyway am very happy with the Sonata Limited and I would highly recommend it. Mine is exactly the same as is shown in the video - Stormy Seas (Blue) and Camel Leather.

    • @Doug N Yes it was and a pain in the butt to keep up. I just saw it on the showroom floor and had to have it. The bloom left the rose after about 6 months and I really lost interest in it. Don't really need two cars (my wife and I are both retired) but I do love getting them. Anyway the Ironman was a mistake but the G90 and the Sonata were not.

So, preventing its smell to enter the car is a very useful feature. You are an American. So, I feel the need to mention that on this planet there are 7,500 million people who are NOT American. I know it is hard to imagine there exist people outisde of the USA but there are.

  • Doug I like your reviews and they are very thorough. A small piece of advice the word “quirk” is being over used and it’s like a blackboard scratch situation every time you say it....tone it down if possible. Also if your dress sense could be slightly improved with a polo shirt and some trousers it would seem more professional to say the least. Nevertheless great reviews and I somehow always end up watching your videos above others!!!!!

  • What u missed is 1.6 is a turboengine It means "low end torque " Which will never get in a engine which is naturally aspirated

    harpreet singhharpreet singh2 hónapja
    • So basically you get the "punch" on the bottom not on the high end, also natural aspirated engines achieve optimum performance when reaching max revs!

      Mark OlmstedMark OlmstedHónapja
  • Why sonata don't have anymore a 2.0L turbocharged with 245 hp...??

  • Quirky engine upgrade? Perhaps a lighter 1.6/180hp configuration is superior to the 2.4/190 hp configuration. Bigger isn’t always better, especially when it comes to speed and acceleration. Keep listening to this quirky guy talk about what he thinks is quirky and you’ll realize that you’ve watched too many commercial breaks and wasted your time.

    Nite TraitorNite Traitor2 hónapja
  • I don't think car manufacturers only put one storage pocket on the seats to cut costs, probably some reason which has to do with potentially interfering with the person sitting in front if you're fumbling around in there?

    RichardlizhuRichardlizhu2 hónapja
  • A quirk or two you mentioned has existed since 2015. 2015 - 2019 Sonata Limited heated/cooled seat switches are also part of the automatic climate control head. Smart trunk has also existed since 2015, but the car has to be locked in order for it to work. I imagine that's the problem you were having getting it to work in your video. You made no mention with the 2020, but with my 2015 if you have the heat or air conditioning blowing on a high fan speed and press the voice command button to either answer a call, send a text, tell Google maps where you want to go, the blower speed will decrease to reduce background noise. It also changes speed with the opening or closing of the panoramic sunroof.

  • It's only in the US that I see mid sized sedans going out of fashion but everywhere else in the world no one is buying a SUV and there is a massive demand for sedans, especially like Hyundai, Honda, kia or toyoto. I'm from Asia btw

  • Looks are subjective, so whether you prefer the looks of the Sonata versus the Accord or Camry, you aren't wrong or right. Though I personally think the Accord has the best interior of the 3. If you are in the market for a high end sedan, for not much more you can get into a Honda Accord Touring with 60 more horsepower and a lot fewer quirks. I just can't see considering the Sonata over the Accord which has a far better reputation. The Sonata would need to be much much less for me to even consider it. If you have $40k to spend on a sedan, $2k difference is negligible, get the better rated Accord.

  • There is a trunk release button, it is hidden inside the rear emblem! The open space above the H inside the emblem is the button. I think it is a poor design once the first owner sells the car, but also a cool design if you know about it!
